First Haircut...Literally.

So...I was noticing that you liked using your purple plastic scissors so very much that I went out and got you your very own big girl certified safety scissors. When I gave them to you I specifically said you were only to cut on paper, to which you replied,"yes momma". No hair Gracie. "No momma" you said. I was upstairs washing my face on Thursday morning, you were downstairs eating your breakfast, I poke my head down to check on you, and there you are with the sweetest look on your face, I think you were even batting your eyelashes at me but that could be the terror talking because at this point I knew there was something going on. I asked you what you were doing and you said(hand on hip)...
"ohh iwas yus pyain barrrberrr"
"with your scissors Gracie?"said I
"ummm nooo I was yus pweetending to play barrberr"
"with your safety scissors gracie?"
"did you cut your hair?" as the pitch in my voice starts to rise when I realize that you have in fact cut your hair, your beautiful blonde hair. Not only have you cut it but now you are tring to fib about it, so I can't decide whether to give in to the urge and laugh myself silly or give in to the urge to be mad at you! I decide to give you one more chance to tell the truth...
"Gracie, did you cut your hair with your safety scissors?"
"no I didn't" you answer
Reaching to your hair I pull out a little tuft that has been cut but not actually fallen out, and I fight the urge to giggle as I put it in front of your face "GRACE, DID YOU CUT YOUR HAIR???"

There are a couple of beats and then with your head bowed you finally concede..."Yes, I did"

I guess I should be proud, you didn't get to your bangs. You gave yourself layers on both sides, I had to cut it all off in order to make it even, but of course you make it look so cute that I can't even be bothered to be upset. For fibbing to me you got your TV taken away for the rest of the day, to which you informed me that I didn't have to take it away, I could just turn it off. I'm sorry, how old are you?
